What Is Bromhidrosis – And What Can You Do About It?

Ever notice a strong body odour that sticks around even after a shower? While it’s normal for our bodies to produce scent, a condition called bromhidrosis can cause odour to become particularly noticeable and persistent — often causing embarrassment and discomfort.

Bromhidrosis is a medical condition where sweat interacts with bacteria on the skin, producing an unusually strong or foul smell. It’s most common in areas with high sweat gland activity — like the underarms, groin, or feet. [1]

For people already dealing with hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), bromhidrosis can be even more noticeable. And unfortunately, showering alone isn’t always enough to fix it.

What causes it? Overactive sweat glands, build-up of bacteria on the skin, synthetic clothing that traps moisture, and certain foods, medications, or medical conditions can all contribute.

How to manage it:
- Wash regularly with antibacterial soap
- Wear breathable, natural fabrics
- Use products that absorb moisture and reduce bacteria — like DRITAL Perspiration Controlling Powder

DRITAL contains Diphemanil Methylsulfate to help reduce sweat, Zinc Oxide to soothe and protect the skin, and Corn Starch for fast-acting moisture absorption.

If persistent body odour is holding you back, don’t just mask it — manage it. Try DRITAL Perspiration Controlling Powder for fast relief, dry skin, and greater confidence.
